Ian Smith

Clients call Mr. Smith when they have complex problems related to growth strategies, customer profitability, transformational technology projects or the reduction of long-term operating costs. He focuses on where the work gets done and has implemented transformation from the C Suite to the shop floor. He has delivered transformational projects to clients in various sectors including communications, software, entertainment, manufacturing, research, bio-technology and insurance.
Smith has assisted companies with a broad range of business transformation initiatives. He has developed customer lifetime value analysis, improved finance and accounting operations, subscriber churn reduction initiatives and customer-based marketing campaigns, as well as improved CXO accountability at the executive committee through the implementation of key performance indicator trees and management control systems. Mr. Smith has also assisted companies with information systems planning and large-scale technology implementation initiatives. He has managed a software selection and implementation for a next generation mediation and billing application at a North American wireless carrier and the implementation of a next generation enterprise system and business operations at a console gaming company.
Most recently, Mr. Smith was responsible for managing a large portfolio of management consulting and technology implementation projects at both a global software and North American wireless company.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Smith spent fourteen years with Hitachi Consulting in Seattle, where he served as Senior Vice President, responsible for product sales across the America’s geography and was a member of the America’s go-to-market leadership team. In addition, Mr. Smith was the Seattle geography leader with account management responsibility.
Mr. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Seattle University. Mr. Smith is an active CPA in the state of Washington.
