Jeremy Tilsner is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in New York. He is a technology expert and veteran forensic investigator who specializes in applying advanced analytical and forensic techniques to a broad range of disputes, investigations and other contentious situations.

With more than 19 years of experience, Mr. Tilsner applies the latest in data science and forensic technology to perform analyses in a wide variety of legal and regulatory situations, including investigations, litigation, regulator inquiries, bankruptcies and government-mandated monitorships. He has served clients across all sectors of the economy, ranging from multinational corporations with complex legal, regulatory and compliance issues to high-net-worth individuals with highly specific needs.

Mr. Tilsner’s notable work includes advising counsel to a major cryptocurrency exchange under investigation for questionable market conduct; serving as an expert witness in a federal criminal matter related to the alleged manipulation of prices on foreign currency exchanges; advising debtors in the bankruptcy of a large digital asset lender; acting as an advisor to the independent compliance monitor of a global bank for issues related to communications and trade surveillance; and advising debtors in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy on issues related to the analysis and preservation of bespoke historical data.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Tilsner was a corporate strategy consultant in the credit card and retail banking space, where he developed statistical models to help his clients improve returns on marketing investments. He also worked as a design engineer in the consumer electronics industry.

Mr. Tilsner earned a BSEE from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association and the Wall Street Blockchain Association. Additionally, Mr. Tilsner is a regular commentator on emerging topics in technology and the impact of new technologies on the legal and regulatory landscape.
