As the COVID-19 pandemic hit, emergency rooms and doctor’s offices were left empty. The number of Telehealth visits began to soar and amid changes in regulation and perception by patients, telehealth was now seen as a viable and thriving option.
In part one of this three-part series, Peter Urbanowicz and Karen Davis from A&M's Healthcare Industry Group are joined by Dr. David Shulkin, former Secretary of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and Senior Advisor of A&M's Healthcare Industry Group and Dr. Lewis Levy, Chief Medical Officer of Teladoc. In this podcast they'll discuss the dramatic increase in telehealth usage since the COVID-19 crisis began, the strategies that providers and other organizations have been imploring and implementing, and what the future of telehealth looks like in a constantly changing healthcare environment.
