Topics discussed:

  • How Southeast Asian operational partners have responded so far
  • Approaches that have been taken across the region in formulating an effective value creation strategy
  • Opportunities and challenges for improving operations in the new norm
  • Case study: How Southeast Asian operational partners have worked to support their portfolio companies through the crisis
  • Potential changes in portfolio governance models
  • How firms can harness technology to accelerate value creation across portfolios

Other speakers included: Atiff Gill, Principal, CVC CAPITAL PARTNERS and Abhishek Kapur, Managing Director, KKR CAPSTONE

“Supporting portfolio companies in value creation is a science and art – the science involves setting up the right management processes and a shared incentive plan; the art involves incorporating the appropriate leadership, managing the change, and fostering relationships with the portfolio teams. In the post-COVID-19 world, it is also imperative for all stakeholders (funds, external advisors, and portfolio teams) to have some level of flexibility to deal with the unknowns.” -Suresh Dalai, Alvarez and Marsal
