An Upward Trajectory for Directed-energy Weapons
A&M Managing Director and industry leader in aerospace and defense, James Marceau, was recently featured in Military & Aerospace Electronics on the upward trajectory for directed-energy weapons. James shares his insights on the significance of electromagnetic and high-energy radio frequency and microwave weapons in degrading or neutralizing an adversarial capability.
"Directed-energy weapons have been deployed primarily as a force multiplier, able to damage physical targets with greater precision and accuracy, resulting in a competitive advantage over traditional weapons. Especially given the current heightened global threat landscape in Europe and Asia, militaries are seeking any potential advantages," Marceau says. "There have also been increased efforts to develop Air Defense suppression systems that use airborne lasers to disrupt or disable an opponent’s own defensive weapons."
