On October 18, 2017, A&M Taxand hosted a webinar on Global Tax Transparency and Perspectives from the EU, UK and Asia. The webinar discussed the following key international tax compliance updates which are set to impact taxpayers engaged in more aggressive tax planning, as well as raise practical issues for typical planning and compliance.
- The requirement of intermediaries to file information concerning cross-border reportable arrangements at the EU level
- Establishing a criminal offence for failure to prevent the criminal facilitation of tax evasion in the UK
- Multiple tax transparency measures across Asia
A&M’s Kevin Hindley shared his thinking on these international tax changes, in particular, shedding light on the update concerning the prevention of criminal facilitation of tax evasion in the UK.
