The average age of CEOs is nearly 60 years of age within the S&P 500. As the average age of CEOs grows older, the average CEO tenure is growing shorter, to about 6.9 years. Is your organization ready as it looks for a replacement? It's no surprise that many companies have been preoccupied with the major economic disruption in the market and may not have considered CEO succession planning as one of their priorities - but it should be, especially in today’s competitive labor market.
