A&M’s Thomas Ohanian lands the Television Academy’s top honor for his technical invention in digital media.

Honored for his scientific and technical achievements, Mr. Ohanian’s Emmy wins underscore the innovative mindset and industry depth embedded in A&M’s M&E capabilities to help clients maximize value and drive change.

Mr. Ohanian’s fourth Emmy recognizes his reimagining of the digital media supply chain process which reduced time to market from three weeks to just 24 hours – allowing the industry to move at a pace commensurate with demand. Mr. Ohanian has been at the forefront of the sector’s digital transformation. Prior Emmy awards recognized his invention of computerized editing, an approach that revolutionized the film and television industries. He received an Academy Award for the same achievement.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Ohanian was a Corporate Fellow at Avid, co-inventing digital nonlinear video editing systems, which increased that firm’s revenue from $0 to $400 million annually. His inventions eventually led to a $1.6 billion market cap with an initial public offering (IPO). He also served as the media segment strategist at Cisco Systems where he introduced the concept and strategy for a converged media-centric datacenter offering, reducing motion picture studio workflows from 18 hours to 6 hours. Previously, he served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Signiant where he led the transition from satellite-based to terrestrial IP-based distribution, reducing the three-week supply chain to 24 hours, which is now the industry standard.
