With expertise in developing intelligent content systems and holding 10 patents in innovations that enable personalized education, Mr. Hanapole has been a pioneer in applying technology to meet the needs of diverse learners at educational institutions. Early on, he applied foundational AI methods to create advanced, customized learning materials, providing educators with tailored resources to address diverse student needs—this established the groundwork for scalable, data-driven learning solutions.
As the founder of A&M’s Media & Entertainment Industry practice, he led the development of a student-facing AI solution for a major educational services provider, empowering educators to expand advisory services to a larger student population. This AI-driven platform enabled personalized support at scale, improving student outcomes while optimizing costs.
Previously, Mr. Hanapole served as Global Media & Entertainment Practice Leader at IBM, where he led technology transformations for consumer-centric platforms. Prior to IBM, he served as CIO at Kaplan, where he oversaw global technology operations supporting personalized education and scalable advisory systems. At StarTV in Hong Kong, he managed international broadcasting technology operations, driving innovative content-delivery solutions across an extremely dynamic media market. As Vice President of Global Technology at News Corp, he directed modernization efforts to optimize global content delivery systems, and as CIO for New York Times Digital, he led digital transformation initiatives.
Mr. Hanapole earned a bachelor’s degree in operations management, television, radio, and film from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
