Alvarez & Marsal Launches Its Disputes and Investigations Offering in Paris, France
Paris – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has extended its Disputes and Investigations service line to now include Paris, France with the appointment of Andrew Flower as Managing Director. This expansion will significantly enhance the firm’s Disputes and Investigations capabilities, not only in Europe but across A&M globally.
Mr. Flower brings over 25 years of experience in forensic accounting, providing expert evidence in high-profile international arbitrations – both commercial and investor-state disputes. He has provided evidence in arbitrations conducted under the charge of several institutions including ICC, ICDR, DIS and under UNCITRAL rules. Mr. Flower was previously the global head of disputes and arbitration at one of the Big 4 accounting firms.
Julian Jones, Managing Director and Head of A&M’s European Disputes and Investigations practice, commented: “Andrew joining A&M signals our ambition to be the leading independent global firm specialising in Disputes and Investigations. His arrival and the experience he brings makes for a significant high-profile hire not only for the Disputes and Investigations group in what is a key location for International Arbitration, but also for A&M as an organisation, by strengthening our capability on-the-ground in France.”
Antonio “Tony” Alvarez III, Managing Director and A&M’s European Practice lead, said: “Andrew’s arrival is the latest high-profile addition to A&M’s practice in France in 2018, with the launch of our Financial Industry Advisory Services and the Transaction Advisory Group, all within the last six months. This latest move demonstrates our continued commitment to growing our presence in France, and mainland Europe.”
In 2017, Mr Flower was listed by Who’s Who Legal as one of the top 10 leading expert witnesses in international arbitration in Europe. Additionally, he was also cited as one of 24 experts globally to be recognised as a Thought Leader in International Arbitration. Over the course of his career, Mr. Flower has also provided advice to parties in post-transaction disputes, both in connection with arbitrations and in the context of expert determinations.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Flower said: “A&M is one of the most disruptive, ambitious firms practicing and I am delighted to be joining such a prestigious organisation. Kick-starting the firm’s operations in France will help grow its reach further, and I believe this, combined with my experience, will help us accelerate the firm’s development across Europe, and indeed globally.”
