HONG KONG SAR, May 27, 2024 – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez and Marsal (A&M) today announced the launch of ChatView, the firm’s proprietary tool to extract and analyze chat data for forensic technology concerns pertaining to regulatory and legal disputes. As an AI-powered forensic technology tool, ChatView enables lawyers and investigators to conduct domestic and cross-border disputes and investigations leveraging chat data for a complete and comprehensive methodology. Initially developed by A&M’s Disputes and Investigations team over four years ago, ChatView was created support disputes & investigations initiatives, that required reviewing large volumes of chat messages, emanating from law firms, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission. ChatView’s new transcription and translation function for multilingual audio messages along with the interpretation of videos, photos and emojis, addresses clients’ electronic discovery (e-Discovery) needs for compliance with increasing statutory laws across multiple jurisdictions in Asia.
Hong Kong statutory law mandates where claims exceed HK$8 million with more than 10,000 documents involved in a commercial dispute would require e-Discovery. A&M ChatView cuts through the volume of potentially hundreds of thousands, if not millions of, messages and refines the scope into an easy-to-review format. Additionally, ChatView does not store chat data on the cloud thus helping to mitigate risk for clients.
