Alvarez & Marsal Expands Global Privacy and Data Protection Capability with Senior Hires

London – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), has strengthened its Disputes & Investigations practice in Europe with three senior hires in its London office. Robert Grosvenor has been appointed as Managing Director to lead the firm’s Global Privacy & Data Compliance services capacity. Matthew Negus joins as Senior Director and Samita Patel as a Director. They will be supported by a specialised team of seven practitioners.

Mr. Grosvenor brings more than 20 years’ experience of advising multinationals on global and cross-border privacy, compliance and data regulation issues across a number of sectors, including financial services, life sciences, technology and media. His expertise ranges from designing and deploying global privacy programmes and rationalising multi-jurisdictional requirements in the context of corporate data strategy, digital transformation and outsourcing initiatives, through to assessing and mitigating privacy, digital ethics and data compliance risk in areas such as M&A transactions, AdTech and Digital Marketing.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Grosvenor was a Managing Director at Promontory, a global consulting firm, for over nine years, where he led the firm’s Global Privacy & Data Protection practice based in London.

Mr. Negus brings over 15 years’ experience in complex privacy and data protection matters and will be responsible for developing solutions to support clients address their privacy and data protection compliance obligations with a focus on digital transformation, operational restructuring and risk management. He has worked across a range of sectors including banking, insurance, leisure, property development, retail and technology. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Negus spent more than five years at a global consulting firm, within their privacy and data protection practice and previously led a privacy compliance function within a large banking organisation.

Ms. Patel will be responsible for supporting clients with the design and delivery of their data privacy and compliance strategies and advising on business focused solutions for managing global privacy requirements, implementing digital marketing and ad-tech initiatives and streamlining privacy operations. Before joining A&M, Ms. Patel spent over seven years at a global consulting firm, within their privacy and data protection practice, where she designed and led several multi-year international privacy change programs and engagements for clients across various sectors including asset management, education, insurance, life sciences, media, publishing, retail and technology.
