Industry Veteran Focuses on Renewable and Energy Transition Sectors 

New York –  Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) continues to expand its offerings to the energy industry with the appointment of San Francisco-based Julie McLaughlin as a Managing Director in the firm’s U.S. Energy  practice. Ms. McLaughlin’s hire expands A&M’s renewable and energy transition sector expertise and demonstrates the firm’s commitment to solving for complex sector issues arising from regulatory, market demand, consumer awareness and ESG concerns.
 
Ms. McLaughlin specializes in renewable energy and has worked across 16 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. She brings more than 17 years of renewable energy experience and expertise related to strategy, investment and business development as well as regulatory affairs to A&M. She has a proven track record working with utilities, private equity, renewable project developers and regulators. Additionally, Ms. McLaughlin serves as an Advisor to Energetic Insurance, an energy-focused insuretech.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. McLaughlin spent three years as Vice President of Commercial Origination and Vice President of Regulatory Affairs with Cogentrix, a Carlyle portfolio company and independent power producer. Ms. McLaughlin supported M&A activities for more than two gigawatts of power projects during her tenure at Cogentrix.

Previously, she held a variety of roles with Brookfield Renewable, E.ON Climate & Renewables, Dynamic Energy, EcoSecurities and The Vertex Companies.

She is a North America Advisor to The Hawthorn Club, an international network for executive women in energy; and a board member of Lean In Network I Energy, an NGO dedicated to empowering women in energy to achieve their career ambitions.
