Marc Sanders, highly experienced in both corporate and private equity transactions, joins A&M

London/Amsterdam --  Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has announced that Marc Sanders has joined the firm as a Managing Director, based in Amsterdam, with Alvarez & Marsal Benelux BV (A&M Benelux) where he will lead the transaction tax offering. Mr. Sanders’ appointment continues the strategic expansion of A&M’s tax capabilities and dovetails with Blagovest Petkov joining the firm in the US.

Mr. Sanders brings more than 20 years of experience in international and M&A tax to A&M. He has extensive expertise in transactions and M&A deals such as carve-outs, divestments, leveraged acquisitions and distressed (debt) structures. He advises clients on all aspects of M&A deals and structuring, including managing tax disputes.

Mr. Sanders has worked with clients across many industries, including automotive, media, technology and energy. He has also served as an expert witness in court cases.

Mr. Sanders comes to A&M from EY, where he was a tax partner in the International Tax and Transactions practice. He has assisted multinationals and private equity funds on a range of Dutch and international tax issues. Mr. Sanders previously worked with Andersen, Deloitte and a national Dutch law firm in the Netherlands, the U.S. and Aruba. Mr. Sanders also served as in-house tax counsel at a multinational company.

Mr. Sanders earned a master’s degree in tax law from the University of Amsterdam.
