Alvarez & Marsal Bolsters Asia Restructuring Practice With Senior Appointment
Tod Macri joins as Senior Advisor in Hong Kong
Hong Kong – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has bolstered its Restructuring & Turnaround practice in Asia with the appointment of Tod Macri as Senior Advisor, based in Hong Kong.
Mr. Macri’s appointment augments A&M’s expertise in Restructuring and Insolvency and strengthens the growing senior team in Asia, following the appointments of Senior Director Ben Hsiao in Shanghai, Managing Director Joshua Taylor and Senior Director Steffi Thio in Singapore, and Managing Director Eddie Middleton in Hong Kong in less than one year.
Relocating from the U.S. to Hong Kong, Mr. Macri brings more than three decades of experience in restructurings and turnarounds globally as both an investor and consultant. With expertise in Asia and the U.S., his market knowledge encompasses due diligence, restructuring, and portfolio management, in addition to the origination, sale, and trading of distressed assets and special situations.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Macri founded 3T Corporation, providing management consulting services and identifying distressed situations and investment opportunities globally. Before that, he held numerous senior roles at Deutsche Bank across New York, Hong Kong and Singapore. In his most recent role as the Bank’s Managing Director of the Strategic Investment Group/Distressed Products Group, Mr, Macri managed and developed trading and investment businesses focused on distressed and illiquid fixed income products.
“Tod joins our team at an opportune time, as we have observed a surge in demand for restructuring in Asia, “said Ron Thompson, Managing Director of A&M Asia and Head of Asia’s Restructuring & Turnaround Practice. “With his established expertise in global and Asian restructurings along with capital raising, Tod will bolster our unique offering to help clients identify and execute on the best options and opportunities to achieve their objectives.”
“The pandemic has accelerated distressed situations across various sectors in Asia. I am delighted to join this exceptional practice at A&M to help expand the team’s senior advisory across all facets of restructurings and insolvencies,” said Mr. Macri.
Mr. Macri graduated from Duke University, and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, INSOL International, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
