2019 Oil and Gas Oilfield Services (OFS) Incentive Compensation Report

Alvarez & Marsal's (A&M’s) Compensation and Benefits Practice is pleased to share the results of its 2019 Oil and Gas Oilfield Services (OFS) Incentive Compensation Report.

Incentive compensation is an integral part of the total compensation package for executives at most large, publicly-traded companies. To understand annual and long-term incentive (LTI) compensation pay practices in the energy sector, specifically for oilfield service (OFS) companies, the Compensation and Benefits Practice of Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) examined compensation amounts disclosed by the largest OFS companies in the U.S. in 2018.

This report reviews the value of CEO and CFO compensation packages, annual and long-term incentive pay practices, CEO pay ratios, and the prevalence and value of change in control benefits to which these executives are entitled. We also address compensation arrangements at distressed OFS companies, as well as initial public offerings in the OFS sector.
