Returning to Alvarez & Marsal
What brought you back to A&M, and how does it feel to return?
Over the past two years at a leading Nordic law firm, I regularly saw restructuring situations where A&M's expertise would have added significant value. That realization motivated me to return. I've always appreciated A&M's entrepreneurial mindset and strong sense of teamwork, so coming back feels both natural and energizing.
How did your time in law strengthen your restructuring approach at A&M?
Working in process and transaction structuring gave me a fresh perspective beyond my previous A&M experience. It helped me better understand how legal and financial components intersect. I was also more involved in stakeholder management and strategic decision-making, giving me deeper insight into boardroom dynamics and how senior leaders think.
Opportunities for A&M in the Norwegian Market
What opportunities do you see for A&M in Norway?
One major opportunity lies in advising on high-yield bond situations. Norway has the largest high-yield bond market in the Nordics and a long tradition of using these instruments. With that comes risk, and A&M is well positioned to support clients in navigating those challenges.
How has your international experience helped you build client relationships at A&M?
Each Nordic country has its own culture, and having grown up in both Norway and Sweden helps me navigate those nuances effectively. My broader international background has also made me more understanding and empathetic, which helps me connect with clients and better appreciate their perspectives.
Returning to A&M, Finding Focus Outdoors
What advice would you give to others considering a return to A&M?
Think about what new perspective and capabilities you can bring back with you—and stay connected to your former colleagues. Those relationships matter and often pave the way for meaningful opportunities.
How does wildlife photography help you recharge and bring focus to your work at A&M?
Wildlife photography requires patience, focus, and time outdoors. Because I tend to stay plugged into work, having a hobby that encourages me to disconnect is essential. My passion for nature and animals runs deep, and photography keeps me connected to those interests while helping me reset.
