Alvaro Araujo is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group in Miami. He specializes in providing buy-side and sell-side financial and accounting due diligence, as well as advisory services to private equity sponsors and corporate clients.

With more than 18 years of experience, Mr. Araujo is a seasoned transaction advisor in leading domestic and cross-border engagements. He advises clients on leveraged buy-outs, carve-outs, distressed transactions, negotiations of purchase and sale agreements, negotiation and design of purchase price adjustment mechanisms, and other unique situations. He has worked with clients across various industries including business services, consumer products, distribution, industrials, manufacturing, professional services and retail.

Prior to joining A&M, Alvaro was a Partner in the transaction advisory services group of Ernst & Young, where he held various roles of increasing responsibility, including the development of new markets. He also served as a Chief Restructuring Officer for a distressed manufacturing company and successfully founded and operated a business process outsourcing business.

Mr. Araujo earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University and a master’s degree in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is fluent in English and Spanish.
