Zack Shah

Mr. Shah focuses on institutions and businesses across the entire education ecosystem. He helps businesses create strong value propositions to enhance learning and career opportunities for learners and talent, as well as improving efficiency in the delivery of these services. With his foundational training in process improvement as an engineer, a graduate degree in education policy, and industry experience within one of the largest global education companies, Mr. Shah provides thesis-driven, strategic, and operational advice with an emphasis on delivering long-term value for his clients.
Mr. Shah’s extensive experience includes buy-side assessments of several local and global workforce solutions platforms, merger assessments of leading higher education institutions, and carve-out experience with leading publicly traded education corporations. His other notable assignments include 100+ capital markets transactions across early education, K–12, post-secondary education, and corporate training.
Mr. Shah founded the Education Technology and Services practice at Lincoln International LLC. Prior to that, he was Head of Corporate Development and M&A at Adtalem Global Education, a publicly traded workforce solutions platform. Previously, Mr. Shah was a Managing Director at Lazard, where he co-founded the Education practice. His professional experience in capital markets also includes roles as a Director at BMO Capital Markets, Vice President at Bank of America Securities, and an Associate at Wells Fargo Securities.
Mr. Shah earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (with honors) from the University of Houston, a master’s degree in public administration (with a focus on education policy) from Harvard University, and an MBA (accounting and analytical finance) from The University of Chicago. He also holds Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.
