Trey Huffman

With more than 20 years of finance operations and treasury experience, Mr. Huffman has provided leadership to troubled organizations, led organizational transformations and driven cost reductions.
Mr. Huffman’s notable recent engagements at A&M include partnering with the procurement and finance leadership of a multi-billion-dollar network operator undergoing restructuring; leading finance transformation for a South American mobile network operator, executing operating due diligence on U.S.-based fiber operations assets and a wireless ISP, and serving as an interim finance executive for a troubled fitness center operator.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Huffman served as an Advisor to a regional CLEC regarding capital structure and borrowings in respect to public company acquisition. He was Interim CFO for The Lucas Group, a privately held nationwide recruiting and executive placement firm. There he led the finance team through a transitional period; finalized the annual plan, annual audit and leading refinancing; and advised the executive team on strategic transactions and operating strategy. Prior to that, he was CFO of Ackerman Security Systems, a privately held local consumer alarm services company, where he led ERP replacement, streamlined the reporting cycle, improved controllership and led debt restructuring. He also led efforts to drive costs through process improvement, streamlined inventory handling, and improved vendor negotiations.
Previously, he served as Corporate Treasurer for EarthLink, a publicly traded consumer and business telecom provider, where he raised more than $1 billion in capital through a variety of instruments, drove reduction in leverage from 4.1x to 2.5x and in interest expense by 40 percent. He managed investor relations, including sell-side analyst relationships and key investors, advised on multiple acquisitions and divestitures, and led the financial planning of a reorganization that resulted in reducing payroll by more than 50 percent over eighteen months.
Mr. Huffman earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering and an MBA from Duke University. He also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
