Tony Sweeney

Mr. Sweeney has led large global technology teams and been the hands-on leader of transformational technology and operational programmes, including post-acquisition integration, business unit carve-out, integration of new geographic business units and re-platforming a bank.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Sweeney was the Chief Information Officer of Close Brothers Asset Finance and Leasing, Banks B2B lending division. He gained approval for a £28 million re-platforming programme that helped drive an increase in revenues, and his team designed the technical architecture and introduced a continuous delivery model to speed up change. Previously, Mr. Sweeney spent three years as Chief Information Officer at Howden Broking Group, where he led the technology integration of multiple broking acquisitions globally.
Prior to that, Mr. Sweeney led the cultural and organisational transformation of the BT Enterprise Division, imbedding Agile working practices and integrating newly acquired business units. He took over the global client delivery function of BT Conferencing, cutting costs by 15 percent and improving implementation speed. Previously, Mr. Sweeney worked at Betfair, holding various roles across technology, transformation, marketing and operations. He led the delivery of Betfair’s Australia business unit, including technology roadmap, compliance and the creation of an operational hub in Tasmania.
Mr. Sweeney earned a bachelor’s degree in politics and french from Swansea University. A dual U.K./French national, he is fluent in English and French.
