Tony Simion

With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Simion brings expertise in: in- and out-of-court restructurings; business plan development and assessments; customer, vendor, and labor negotiations; liquidity and treasury management; and various profit improvement initiatives. He has worked with clients across various industries, including automotive, commodities, home building, real estate, stored energy devices, internet and SaaS, commercial landscaping, and residential mortgage servicing.
Notably, Mr. Simion completed a prepacked Chapter 11 of Dynata. The 54-day case resulted in a reduction of around 40% of its total debt from approximately $1.3 billion to $780 million. Prior to this, Mr. Simion completed an out-of-court restructuring of a premium aftermarket automotive supplier. Within three months, the company refinanced its credit facility and secured an un-drawn ABL for additional liquidity purposes. Mr. Simion’s other notable assignments include providing turnaround and restructuring advisory services to Babcock & Wilcox, Washington Prime Group, Sable Permian Resources, Paddock Enterprises, LLC, GST AutoLeather, Noranda Aluminum, Exide Technologies, and A123 Systems.
Previously, Mr. Simion was the Chief Restructuring Officer for a privately held Tier 1 heavy truck supplier in the heavy tonnage injection molding industry. Within six months, he negotiated a forbearance with the company’s secured lender, accommodations with customers providing price increases and liquidity support, and the divesting of an underperforming division.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Simion was the North America Controller for the Engine Cooling division of Behr America Industries and a Plant Controller at Guardian Industries. Previously, he held multiple roles in operations and finance for the Nonwovens division of Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
Mr. Simion earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA (concentration in finance) from the Babcock School of Management at Wake Forest University. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and a member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, the Turnaround Management Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
