Tjeerd Groot

With nearly 20 years of experience in the energy sector, including nearly nine years as a consultant, Mr. Groot balances strategic and practical perspectives to enable tangible and implementable advice and bottom-line impact. He focuses on value delivery and provides an independent, clear and honest assessment of clients’ underlying performance issues to chart a decisive path forward.
Mr. Groot has worked with seven of the 10 largest energy, mining and power and utilities companies in Australia, including leading a large-scale organization restructure and consecutive performance improvement program for the Australian subsidiary of a large international mining company; executing the operating model redesign for three large multinational LNG producers in Australia and the U.S.; aligning the operating model and restructuring with renewable energy strategy for the executive board and organization of a power and utility company; and doing buy-side due diligence for a potential takeover of an Australian renewable energy retailer.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Groot worked as a Partner with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Perth as part of the Australian Energy practice leadership team for nearly nine years. Previously he spent ~10 years at Shell in a range of operational, commercial, strategic and value optimization roles in major capital projects.
Mr. Groot earned a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands
