Timothy Byhre is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Valuation Services in Chicago. He specializes in providing valuation advisory services. His main areas of concentration include the valuation of debt and equity securities for ASC 820 and tax purposes.

With more than 14 years of experience, Mr. Byhre has worked with hedge funds, private equity and business development companies, as well as privately held companies in the retail, financial, healthcare and automotive industries.

Additionally, Mr Byhre has provided valuation advisory services for various types of debt, including senior, mezzanine, subordinated and convertible. He also has provided similar services for various classes of equity, including preferred and common equity, warrants and other complex securities such as swaps, derivatives and structured products.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Byhre served as Sr. Director of Business Valuation with RSM US LLP in Chicago, where he focused on portfolio valuation and fair market value for tax valuations. Previously, Mr. Byhre spent nine years at Duff & Phelps, focusing primarily on valuation work for expert witness litigation and tax purposes.

Mr. Byhre earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston University and an MBA in analytic finance and accounting from the University of Chicago. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder and a member of CFA Society Chicago.
