Thomas Gounel is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal and the head of the Valuation Services in France. He brings 20 years of international experience in transaction advisory with a focus on companies and assets valuation.

Mr. Gounel has led and coordinated valuation projects in various contexts including mergers & acquisitions;​ independent valuation opinions; multi-country legal and tax reorganizations; disputes and litigation between shareholders or partners as well as financial reporting including business combinations, fair value reporting and share option valuations.​

Mr. Gounel works with both corporate and private equity clients across various sectors including automotive, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, technology and transportation.​

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Gounel had 19 years of Big Four valuation and modelling experience in Paris and New York.​

Mr. Gounel earned a master’s degree in engineering from Ecole des Mines and a master‘s degree in finance from ESSEC business school.​ He is an Adjunct Professor in finance at ESSEC and is actively involved in thinktanks on trademarks and technologies.
