Teri Hanson

With more than 15 years of tax consulting experience, Ms. Hanson advises clients on state and local tax matters related to business acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations. She also provides strategic counsel with respect to multi-state income and non-income (i.e., gross receipts, sales and use, employment, property, transfer) tax matters. Ms. Hanson has worked with clients across a range of industries, including telecommunications, technology, online and brick-and-mortar retail, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, professional services and financial services.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Hanson worked with the Private Company Services group of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and as a tax adviser for the Pritzker Family Office, LLC. She was responsible for assisting companies with their tax and financial accounting functions, including federal and state income tax compliance, non-income tax compliance, IRS audit support, state and local tax audit defense, financial statement compilation and review, assurance services and internal control support.
Ms. Hanson earned a bachelor’s degree (honors) in accounting and a master’s degree (high honors) in accounting (taxation focus) from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Michigan, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Chicago Tax Club (CTC), the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
