Tarek S. Hosni is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Paris. He brings 30 years of change management experience in restructuring and turnaround of companies in France and in Europe. His primary areas of concentration are general management, business development, operations and finance. Mr. Hosni has worked with companies across a range of industries, including food, packaging manufacturing, luxury perfumes and cosmetics, B2B & B2C retail, and transportation and logistics.

For A&M, Mr held or still holds C-Suite roles including :

  • Special advisor to CEO of SNCF (French railways) in Senegal 2022-2023;
  • CEO of Alain Afflelou in 2020- 2021;
  • CEO of C&A France (retail)  in 2016-2018;
  • Board roles : Genoyer SA (Oil & Gas) & Eolane (Electronics);
  • CRO or CTO roles : (1) Presstalis (formerly NMPP), the leading press distributor in France & (2) a mandate of CRO of a leading manufacturing company listed in the Paris Stock exchange.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Hosni served as CEO of two companies operating in the railroad sector with SNCF Geodis. With Butler Capital Partners, Mr. Hosni joined an LBO on the world leader of fruit preparation for the dairy industry (Danone, General Mills) as CEO of Atys France, which was then sold to Agrana. He designed and conducted a full turnaround plan, including plants and supply chain optimization (lean manufacturing),market share recapture and brand repositioning. He then was appointed by Butler Capital Partners as CEO of Giraud International, a leading road transportation company operating throughout Europe (15 countries) almost in bankruptcy.

The company was refinanced, downsized and relaunched in particular through an aggressive development plan in Eastern European countries, a shift of the client portfolio towards major accounts and the renewal of the management team. The company was sold to SNCF Geodis, the French state railways company.

Mr. Hosni previously joined the LVMH Group as COO and CFO of a newly acquired perfume and cosmetic company: Guerlain. In this capacity, Mr. Hosni mainly integrated the company to the Group, reshuffled the new product development process to speed the time to market and enhance quality, outsourced the logistics and implemented a lean manufacturing program in the plants. Mr. Hosni’s manufacturing experience began with the leading Franco-British packaging manufacturer in Europe CarnaudMetalbox, now belonging to Crown Cork & Seal. He started as CFO of the plastics division, where he acquired a German group and disposed of noncore companies. He then became CEO to design and implement a lean manufacturing program for the foreign subsidiaries mainly in Spain, Turkey and Poland, where he started the manufacturing operations for customers such as Procter & Gamble or L’Oréal.   

Mr. Hosni began his career as a Consultant with Arthur Andersen as part of the restructuring practice in the firm’s Paris office.

Mr Hosni has also a strong experience in mergers and acquisitions, carve outs and integration of targets into large groups (Crown Cork & Seal and LVMH).

Mr. Hosni earned a degree from Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and Université Paris 2 Assas, where he obtained a LLM in private law. He is also an Expert Comptable Diplômé (French Chartered Professional Accountant). Mr. Hosni is fluent in French, Arabic and English.
