Mr. Shirtliff has spent most of his career working with companies in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector, with a particular focus on software and technology. He also has deep experience in financial services technology/payments platforms, wealth management, services businesses, consumer retail and industrials/manufacturing, including more recent coverage of the waste services/recycling sectors in Australia.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Shirtliff was a Partner with KPMG’s Private Equity Transaction Services team in Sydney for five years. He led financial accounting due diligence projects for international, regional and local private equity investor groups, family offices and public and private companies. Mr. Shirtliff also led KPMG Australia’s Deal Analytics business, developing and implementing the go-to-market and service delivery strategies.
Previously, Mr. Shirtliff spent 21 years at Deloitte in Sydney, Melbourne and Toronto, including 13 years as Partner across audit, forensic and transaction services.
Mr. Shirtliff earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from McGill University in Montreal. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA) in Australia and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and was previously a Registered Company Auditor. He has served on the board of directors of Harrison Riedel Foundation Limited since 2017.
