Shiraz Malik
Mr. Malik specializes in operational diligence and performance improvement for private equity portfolio companies and investment targets. His work focuses on driving bottom-line cost improvements, operational due diligence, organizational restructuring, and process optimization. With nearly 20 years of industry and consulting experience, he is a collaborative, thoughtful, and results-driven strategy and operations professional. He has led large-scale transformations in industrial manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, and media.
Mr. Malik has supported clients across a wide range of sectors in both M&A and performance improvement. He has led buy- and sell-side diligences in sectors including industrial manufacturing, infrastructure, distribution and logistics, education, staffing, media and entertainment, and professional services. He notably drove diligence, carve-out, integration, and a full operational restructuring of a large software as a service (SaaS) company. He designed and implemented the global organizational restructuring of a $15 billion media company operating in 180 countries, consolidating brands, realigning costs, and simplifying processes. He also led a sell-side effort for a large ultrasonic manufacturer, including identifying value creation drivers and consolidating back-office functions across a fragmented portfolio.
Before joining A&M, Mr. Malik spent four years with KPMG, where he co-led the Strategy Private Equity Channel and helped build and grow the diligence and value creation business. He was a key leader in shaping KPMG Advisory’s private equity go-to-market strategy and led several major accounts. Prior to that, he was a Director with AlixPartners, where he focused on global G&A optimization. Earlier in his career, he held roles with Disney and Kaplan and leadership positions in healthcare and education.
Mr. Malik earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University and an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
