Sapphire Chen is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group in Shanghai. She specializes in working on private equity transactions in Asia, providing financial due diligence, negotiation support and other transaction -related advice

Ms. Chen brings 14 years of experience in auditing and financial due diligence. She has in-depth knowledge of the Hong Kong capital market, U.S. GAAP, IFRS and PRC GAAP.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Chen was Associate Director for M&A Advisory in a Big Four company where she focused on retail, the pharmaceutical sector and outbound services. She has worked on high-profile and landmark transactions, including L Catterton’s financial review of Wills Gym in China; Affinity Equity Partner’s proposed investment in a snack food and beverage company in China; Starbucks and Uni-president’s share swap of retail stores in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang with those in Taiwan; and CVC’s potential acquisition in an ocean freight company.

Ms. Chen also worked on Gaw Capital’s investment in IDC centres, logistic warehouses; PAG’s potential investment in a kitchen facility business; Platinum Equity’s potential investment in architecture design business; Affirma Capital’s potential investment in a semi-conduct company; and Vitruvian Partner’s potential investment in a SaaS platform.

Ms. Chen earned a bachelor’s degree in English and international economics and trade from Shanghai Jiaotong University. She is a qualified member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA).
