Ryan Cai

Mr. Cai has delivered multidimensional projects for multinational corporations, local Chinese firms and state-owned enterprises. He led transformative management and digital integration for a retail conglomerate following mixed-ownership restructuring; spearheaded a comprehensive five-year transformation blueprint and merchandising revamp for a leading menswear brand; evaluated and defined competitive strengths for a leading global dairy company in the China food service market; and reimagined customer segmentation and strategy, customer-focused category management and joint customer partnerships by deploying cutting-edge analytics and digital tools for a prominent online B2B retailer.
Beyond his consulting roles, Mr. Cai is a hands-on practitioner who converts strategic visions into operational successes. As an interim CEO, he inaugurated the China business for a leading Southeast Asian coffee chain, orchestrating menu localization, branding initiatives, standard operating procedure adjustments, mission-driven staff recruitment, and establishing business partnerships backed by strategic negotiation support.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Cai served as Associate Partner with Bain and as Senior Project Manager with Roland Berger.
Mr. Cai earned a master's degree in industrial economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. He has published articles on the retail sector in the Harvard Business Review and the CEIBS Business Review.
