Robert Edgecombe is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Birmingham and New Orleans, and serves in the firm’s Real Estate and Environmental Economics practice. He specializes in the analysis of alleged economic damages. His main areas of concentration include evaluating the potential effects of environmental conditions on the use and market value of real property and real estate markets.

With more than 12 years of experience, Mr. Edgecombe has advised clients regarding the impact of environmental contamination and natural disasters on real estate and commercial markets. He has worked with a range of clients, including public sector agencies and private sector firms in the healthcare, manufacturing, petrochemical and environmental services markets.

Mr. Edgecombe's expertise in geographic information systems, market analytics and finance have been applied to commercial litigation, class actions and large-scale public sector planning initiatives. He has also submitted expert reports in both state and federal courts and has testified in federal court.

Furthermore, Mr. Edgecombe served as a real estate expert throughout the negotiations and implementation of the economic and property damages settlement resulting from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. His geospatial and economic analyses of the impact of the event to properties along the Gulf Coast formed the basis of the claim frameworks for real property along over a thousand miles of coastal shoreline.

Mr. Edgecombe earned a bachelor’s degree (honors) from Rhodes College, an MBA from Tulane University and a master’s degree in city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
