He brings 21 years of restructuring experience and specialises in advising corporates and their stakeholders in stressed and distressed situations. Mr. Beard focuses on complex transactions in the U.K. and overseas and takes insolvency appointments.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Beard spent 21 years in Big Four restructuring teams, most recently serving 10 years in the restructuring team at KPMG. In his career to date, Mr. Beard has played a key role in a number of U.K. and overseas restructuring and insolvency matters where his ability to identify and analyze issues, develop restructuring solutions and build relationships with stakeholders has been fundamental to delivering solutions.
Mr. Beard brings experience across a number of different sectors including retail, oil and gas, financial services, investment management, mining, healthcare and airlines.
Mr. Beard led the administration of the U.K. registered American Apparel entities in late 2016. He has worked extensively in the oil and gas sector in recent years. He supported lenders of a privately owned U.K. oil and gas exploration and production company on the options for the restructuring of their debt that resulted in the sale of the group’s key entities and assets effected through an administration process.
Mr. Beard is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a licensed Insolvency Practitioner.
