Richard Avant

Most recently at A&M, Mr. Avant has advised on numerous oil and gas transactions spanning start-ups, carve-outs and mergers – many with private equity firms. He also provided operational due diligence, IPO readiness, as well as Day 1 and Day 100 planning and implementation for back-office functions and plant/field operations.
Additionally, Mr. Avant assisted several companies through business process transformation initiatives that were implemented both enterprise-wide and for individual processes. Although his focus has been on redesigning and implementing new processes, these initiatives typically include technology and change management.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Avant led numerous initiatives to assess, design and implement end-to-end supply chain processes. His areas of focus and expertise in supply chain include procurement, sourcing, fleet operations, supply chain operations, logistics/distribution, inventory management, asset management and planning.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Avant was a Principal with a Big Four firm, holding numerous leadership positions in supply chain and manufacturing.
Mr. Avant earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Rice University and an MBA from the University of Texas. He is certified in production and inventory management (CPIM), as well as integrated resource management (CIRM), and has served as a board member for the John Cooper School and the Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Houston.
