Rhys Morgan is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in San Francisco. He brings over 16 years of experience specializing in financial planning and forecasting, cash forecasting and management (both distressed and non-distressed), identifying and delivering EBITDA improvements, and operational transformation.

Mr. Morgan has delivered financial and operational value creation for private equity, corporate, and public entity clients in a range of industries based in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East.

Mr. Morgan’s notable engagements include playing a lead role in an EBITDA improvement program for a $7 billion pharmaceutical client to identify and implement value creation initiatives across finance and general and administrative expenses (G&A). Utilizing a range of approaches, including zero-based budgeting, $600+ million of EBITDA improvements were delivered without impacting process effectiveness.

Previously, Mr. Morgan played a lead role in the business turnaround of an industrials company with U.S. and international operations. Having rapidly enhanced visibility of short-term cash flow, Mr. Morgan worked with functional and local leaders to build and deliver a bottom-up improvement plan, including margin enhancement, procurement, G&A, capital expenditure, and working capital, which led to the business delivering a marked improvement in financial performance.

Mr. Morgan also led the design and roll-out of a cash office at a $2 billion retailer. He designed the terms of reference and led the roll-out of processes, controls, reporting and governance. This delivered increased cash visibility, robust monitoring and forecasting of cash performance, and the identification and execution of cash preservation levers.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Morgan spent over 10 years with KPMG, where he led projects across a range of teams including Audit (external and internal), Operational Transformation and the Special Situations Group.

Mr. Morgan earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and financial management (first class honors) from Loughborough University in the U.K. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
