With a distinguished record as an executive and advisor, Ms. Klimczak has led global energy businesses for industry majors (ExxonMobil, BHP, BG Group and TXU). Having a unique perspective to offer, she focuses her practice on optimizing organization design, strategic and operational performance and capital structuring. Ms. Klimczak’s notable assignments include: designing organizations and processes; strategic plan development and execution; capital reallocation; portfolio optimization; and driving operational performance improvement.
Ms. Klimczak also helped with the organizational, cost and capital restructuring of BG Group Global Shipping. She recently advised the national oil and gas companies of Bahrain on restructuring and on the formation of a national gas entity. She was also responsible for a transformational cost reduction initiative through grassroots redesign of Exxon, resulting in $200 million annual savings for the company.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Ms. Klimczak was Managing Director at Galway Group. She was also President for Global Shipping for BG Group. In this role, she was responsible for shipping business including operations of BG’s fleet of over 25 tankers (LNG and oil), and the maritime function which included engineering, shipping capital projects and marine advisory support for the company.
Ms. Klimczak was the Chief Procurement Officer and President of Gas Marketing at BHP. As head of BHP’s gas business, she led its gas and LNG marketing, sales, monetization of gas resources and the commercial evaluation of exploration opportunities. As CPO, Ms. Klimczak was responsible for strategic sourcing, country sourcing; driving performance improvement; and functional excellence.
She served as CEO / General Manager of gas and electricity retailing in Melbourne, Australia with Ikon Energy and TXU Australia.
Ms. Klimczak had 14 years in various roles across the downstream sector at ExxonMobil, including senior commercial and marketing roles.
Ms. Klimczak earned a bachelor’s degree in quantitative business analysis and a master’s degree in business administration degree, both from Louisiana State University. She is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) registered securities representative.
