Renat Akimbitov

Mr. Akimbitov’s primary areas of concentration include operational diagnostics, business improvement, capital productivity and strategy implementation. He has worked with clients in various industries, including mining, chemicals, steelmaking and logistics. Mr. Akimbitov has completed 40+ operational diagnostics, identifying 10-50% production improvement and/or 3-15% cost reduction opportunities for open pit and underground mines, concentrators, processing plants and ports.
Mr. Akimbitov has also completed 10+ construction projects in which he reduced critical path by 10-30% and reviewed construction readiness for metallurgical plants; a concentrator; an aluminum plant; an iron ore mine, plant, and port; and a civil construction project. He has completed six operational turnaround programs, delivering $100 +million in EBITDA improvements for several underground hard rock mines, a fertilizer plant, an open-pit gold mine, and a processing plant.
Mr. Akimbitov has also completed more than 10 strategic projects, conducting strategy reviews, benchmarking, developing energy transition strategy, developing and redesigning operating models for hard rock and coal mining companies, fertilizer producers, mine construction projects and industrial products suppliers.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Akimbitov spent 11 years with Partners in Performance, serving most recently as Partner. He helped major mining, industrial, and public sector clients identify and achieve substantial improvements in operational and capital efficiency.
Mr. Akimbitov earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in applied mathematics and physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He is fluent in Russian and English.
