Raymond Berglund is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in London. He specializes in global private equity client management. With over 20 years of experience in transformation, turnaround, and financial leadership, he partners with some of the world’s largest private equity firms to deliver comprehensive solutions across their portfolios, driving both top- and bottom-line improvements.
At A&M, Mr. Berglund works closely with private equity clients, overseeing a broad spectrum of the firm’s services aimed at maximizing portfolio value. This includes M&A diligence, portfolio value creation, exit readiness, digital transformation, data analytics, and restructuring efforts aimed at financial stability and operational efficiency.
Throughout his career, Mr. Berglund has led large-scale business transformations and cost-reduction initiatives, implemented organizational restructurings, and supported leadership teams through M&A integrations. His recent work has included establishing central finance operations for multinational companies, leading sell-side value creation strategies, and designing and implementing business plans that have resulted in measurable financial improvements for private equity-backed businesses.
Previously, Mr. Berglund served as Commercial & Innovation CFO at KCI and as CFO and Senior Vice President of Global Business Services at Smith & Nephew. Earlier in his career, he worked as CFO of Respiratory at GE Healthcare, and he also held various finance and operations roles at GE, including Audit Manager of GE Corporate Audit Staff. His diverse background across industries, from manufacturing to private equity, has equipped him with a deep understanding of how to unlock value in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments.
Mr. Berglund earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering and management from Clarkson University, New York. He has spoken at leading industry conferences, including Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Innovation Day, the MedTech Conference by Advamed, and Dreamforce, sharing insights on transformation and value creation in private equity-backed businesses.
