Rafael Marchi

Mr. Marchi has been responsible for the management and execution of projects in Brazil and in many parts of the world such as Chile, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Austria, Germany, Holland, England, South Africa, Mozambique, and the U.S. in various sectors including mining, steel, chemical, energy (generation, transmission and distribution), oil and gas (upstream downstream), and infrastructure (ports, railways, highways and airports). His management experience varies across companies under processes of project performance improvement, project development and roject implementation.
Mr. Marchi also has experience in dispute cases, such as arbitration, litigation, mediation and claims analysis. He has participated in several international disputes and has analyzed hundreds of complex claims that if added together exceed more than USD 10 billion.
In addition, Mr. Marchi has led several teams of control and monitoring of greenfield and brownfield projects, whose job was to advise clients on risk management, process structuring, contract management, scheduling, costs, procurement and disputes in major projects with total investments above USD 100 Billion.
Mr. Marchi earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), an MBA in strategic and economic business management from FGV, and several specialized project management certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Cost Professional (CC) and Construction Project Management (CPM). He is a member of several associations including Project Management Institute (PMI), Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
