Mr. Motla’s primary areas of concentration are structuring transactions, cross-border taxation, conceptualization and implementation of fund structures, due diligence, compliance, and litigation.

With close to 13 years of post-qualification experience, Mr. Motla has significant expertise in dealing with global as well as domestic funds (including private equity funds, credit funds, and real estate funds) on a variety of tax and regulatory aspects. He has experienced the entire life cycle of funds—setting up, fund raising, acquisitions, exits, and winding up, as well as ongoing compliance and litigation-related aspects. He has been involved in numerous marquee funds and transactions across sectors.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Motla spent close to 10 years with the Financial Services Tax department of PwC in Mumbai, where he most notably served as a Director. Prior to his time at PwC, Mr. Motla spent three years with the Private Equity Tax department of KPMG in Mumbai.

Mr. Motla earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai and is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
