Dean Graves is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Houston, specializing in damage analysis and related financial issues. His broad background includes transaction and financing negotiation, financial analysis and reporting, international arbitration, as well as coordinating non-financial disciplines.

With more than 25 years of advisory and energy industry experience prior to joining A&M, Mr. Graves has performed analyses related to litigation, arbitration, international claims, business interruption insurance claims, business and asset valuation, post-acquisition disputes and contract disputes. He has served as an arbitrator, expert witness and business advisor spanning the oil and gas, retail gasoline, petrochemicals, power generation, mining, apparel, consumer products, wholesale / distribution, professional services, commercial airlines, and research and development with an emphasis in the energy, natural resources and insurance claims industries.

Mr. Graves has led projects related to a wide range of oil and gas issues including analyzing and transitioning management of international partnerships, retail gasoline price discrimination, chemical plant and power plant business interruptions, bio-medical research and development activities, ICC arbitrations and NAFTA claims. Many of his projects have included developing and analyzing large databases and working collaboratively with economists, engineers, scientists and other technical experts. He has served as a court appointed accounting expert and has provided expert testimony in federal and state courts as well as before an insurance valuation tribunal.

Previously, Mr. Graves was a Senior Managing Director at a publicly traded consulting firm and a partner at two Big Five accounting firms.

Mr. Graves earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master of professional accountancy degree from Baylor University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the CFA Institute and the Houston Chapter of the Society of Financial Analysts.
