Besides several C-level roles, Mr. Platsch has managed and advised on a number of performance improvement and operational excellence projects, M&A transactions including due diligence processes and post-merger integration roles, business process outsourcing and corporate restructuring cases. He has worked across Europe as well as in the U.S., mainly serving clients in the industrial and manufacturing sector.
Most recently, Mr. Platsch acted as Chief Integration Officer for an European insulation material manufacturer, leading a carve-out and post-merger integration process for five manufacturing sites, which included synergy analysis, calculation and implementation through harmonizing operational processes, optimizing manufacturing footprint and streamlining organizational structures. He also served as an interim manager and trusted advisor in cross-border headcount reduction and change management programs, negotiating social plans with workers’ councils and union representatives.
Mr. Platsch’s additional roles have included interim Head of Operations for a tier-one automotive supplier overseeing three plants in all operating issues, and Chief Restructuring Officer and Project Management Office lead for a tier-2 automotive LED and actuator supplier. He also acted as the Chief Procurement Officer for a Hungarian chemical company, specializing in the production and processing of plastic raw materials and isocyanides, where he was also responsible for a cash flow and working capital improvement project. Mr. Platsch also led several operational due diligences and carve-out projects for private equity firms, including development of 100-day plans and synergy realization roadmaps.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Platsch spent more than 11 years in the aerospace and renewable energy sector. He spent seven years with Fairchild Dornier GmbH, a regional aircraft manufacturer, airbus component supplier, and maintenance, repair and operations service provider, where he served as Vice President of Procurement and Service Contracts and Deputy General Counsel. He was globally responsible for coordinating the supplier base for aircraft components and general procurement, including the negotiation of all procurement and service contracts. As Deputy General Counsel, he was the in-house counsel for all corporate law aspects in connection with the acquisition of the Fairchild Dornier Group by two major private equity funds, including subsequent funding of the group via leverage financing through several shareholder levels.
Mr. Platsch earned a master of laws degree in mergers and acquisitions and a university degree as an attorney-at-law from the University of Munich in Germany. Mr. Platsch is also a member of the German bar. A German national, he is fluent in German and English.
