Recent notable assignments include: adviser to a $300 million senior care operator, helping the operator to improve the financial and operating structure; adviser to lenders on several senior housing and critical access hospital clients CRO to four separate CCRCs, each with $100 million to $150 million of publicly traded bond debt; and EVP of restructuring for one of the largest CCRC operators in the country (Erickson Retirement Communities) – successfully restructuring $2 billion of debt while continuing the 1st class service to the 20,000 residents and 11,000 employees.
Mr. Rundell also served as senior adviser on the fifth largest assisted living operator with $1.8 billion of debt (Sunwest); SVP of restructuring for a $1.5 billion hospital system (St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers); and he recapitalized a skilled nursing portfolio, removing both salary and non-salary costs as well as recapitalizing a two-hospital system.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Rundell worked with several restructuring and interim management firms where he assisted clients with revenues ranging from $50 million to more than $15 billion.
Mr. Rundell earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Illinois. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) and a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP). He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA).
