Otavio Bachir

Mr. Bachir has advised many clients in valuations matters including corporate strategic decisions, restructuring, project feasibility studies, public offerings, fairness opinions, implementation of IFRS and US GAAP financial reporting rules, and M&A and other transaction-like projects. Mr. Bachir primarily serves clients in technology, media, telecommunications, and education, but also works with clients in other sectors including oil and gas, energy, mining and metals, packaging, and aviation.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Bachir spent many years with EY in Brazil and the US. He started and led the Valuation, Modeling & Economics Services practice for EY in Brazil, where he developed analytics tools and solutions applied to transactions and corporate finance, social and economic impact projects, and social media analytics projects. Mr. Bachir has spent 10 years of his career in São Paulo and seven years in Rio de Janeiro, where he started and developed a diverse valuation team of more than 20 people. He was also based in New York for three years, where he served and advised US-based clients in completing transactions in the US and Latin America.
Mr. Bachir earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, São Paulo, and a master’s degree in management from Fundação Getulio Vargas. He holds international certifications in business valuation from the American Society of Appraisers, having completed all training levels. As a trainer and speaker on several courses and conferences related to valuation, impairment, and business combinations, Mr. Bachir contributes to the valuation field broadly, including as a co-author of the paper “The Quest for Brand Valuation” presented at the Business Association of Latin American Studies Congress in Peru. He is a native speaker of Portuguese, fluent in English, and business proficient in Spanish.
