Mr. Traast regularly advises multinational corporates on cross- border (re)structuring and post-deal tax integration projects, supporting businesses through periods of transformation. He combines technical expertise with a pragmatic, deal-oriented approach to deliver practical and commercially focused outcomes.  

He has significant experience working with private equity–backed businesses and private equity investment structures. His work includes advising on Dutch and European tax matters, including investment structuring and M&A transactions.  

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Traast spent 11 years with Deloitte, mainly basedprimarily in Amsterdam. His experience includes secondments to Deloitte UK and the International Tax desk in New York, where he advised US-headquartered multinationals clients on Dutch and European tax matters. 

Mr. Traast earned an LLM in iInternational and European tax law from the University of Amsterdam and participated in the advanced LLM program in US domestic and international tax law at Leiden University. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB).
