Nick Walton

With more than 13 years of experience in corporate and international tax advisory, Mr. Walton specializes in mergers and acquisitions and transaction tax, having advised on a significant number of transactions for both infrastructure and private equity firms.
Mr. Walton advises mid-market and large cap private equity firms through the whole of the transaction lifecycle. His experience includes leading on the key tax workstreams as part of the acquisition, including tax due diligence and structuring, advising the portfolio companies on post-acquisition strategy, strategic acquisitions and refinancings, structure maintenance and IPO/exit readiness. He also advises on the tax aspects of the sale process, including the due diligence and exit structuring.
Additionally, Mr. Walton brings significant experience in mid-market and large cap private equity, leading numerous U.K. and global transactions. He has also represented clients in the private equity sector, including Livingbridge, Inflexion, ECI, TA Associates, LLCP, 3i, Beech Tree, Bridgepoint, PAI and Francisco Partners.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Walton was a Director in the M&A and Funds Tax group of Deloitte, where he advised key private equity clients on their acquisitions, restructurings and disposals.
Mr. Walton earned a bachelor’s degree in cell biology (honours) from Durham University. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and Chartered Tax Adviser.
