Nick Thoele is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group in New York. He specializes in providing buy- and sell-side financial due diligence services, primarily for private equity clients.

Mr. Thoele focuses exclusively on healthcare transactions and brings expertise in physician and dental practices, optometry, gastroenterology, behavioral health, practice management, anesthesia, infusion, urgent care, managed care, home health, hospice, long term care (SNF, ALF), and various other healthcare sub-industries.

Mr. Thoele has extensive experience determining historical earnings quality and working capital requirements and identifying debt-like items of acquisition targets through analysis of financial statements and discussions with management to provide clients with key information in purchase price negotiations.

Additionally, Mr. Thoele identifies key business drivers and trends to determine earnings sustainability and growth potential of acquisition targets. He ensures that acquisition and financing agreements reflect the proper deal structure and link with financial due diligence findings.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Thoele was a Senior Associate in the TAS Plus Program with the Transaction Advisory practice of Ernst & Young, LLP (EY) in New York. He handled quality of earnings and working capital analyses for target companies with annual revenues ranging from $50 million to over $2 billion in the web hosting and health care industries. Mr. Thoele also provided audit services to public and private clients in the media and entertainment industry.

Mr. Thoele earned a BBA in accounting and a master’s degree in professional accounting (finance minor) from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of New York.
