Neil Hayward

Mr. Hayward helps clients rapidly and sustainably increase EBITDA and cash flows through operational improvements and balance sheet realignment. He has been based in London, New York, the Middle East and Australia, and has worked on projects across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Norway, the Middle East and Asia. He has worked with clients across a range of industries, including oil and gas, construction, retail, food manufacturing and financial services.
Mr. Hayward’s relevant experience includes developing and implementing a turnaround and exit plan by taking the CFO role at Halo Food Co Limited; rebuilding the finance function, processes, controls, cash management and reporting as CFO of a traffic management business exiting voluntary administration; stabilizing APEF IV, a $1.6 billion private equity fund, by taking a director role to lead the fund following a fraud, hiring a new investment manager, reestablishing an exit strategy and pursuing litigation; and negotiating aeronautical contracts with major airports on behalf of a private equity owned airline.
Additionally, Mr. Hayward has served as Interim CEO of a mining company based in the Indian subcontinent, implementing a cost reduction and wind down plan alongside managing ongoing litigation; improved cash management within a media company to buy time to deliver a funding package from shareholders, then developing a turnaround plan to reduce losses and deliver profitability; and developed an operational and financial turnaround plan for a Middle Eastern generics pharmaceutical company to deliver regulatory approvals, improving quality adherence, enhancing manufacturing performance and increasing revenues and profits.
Prior to joining A&M in Australia, Mr. Hayward led the firm’s Middle East business. Before that, he was a partner at PwC.
Mr. Hayward earned a master’s degree in engineering with French from the University of Nottingham, including a year at the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Toulouse. He carries the Chartered Accountant qualification as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
