Michelle Jones is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Melbourne. She specializes in complex investigations and advisory services for matters around fraud, employee misconduct, workplace integrity and whistleblower programs.
With more than 15 years of experience, Ms. Jones has investigated various forms of misconduct and corruption for a range of clients, including bullying/harassment and other employee misconduct, fraud and financial crime, conflicts of interests and bribery. She brings extensive experience providing proactive whistleblower compliance and advisory services and investigating such matters. Ms. Jones has worked with clients in various industries, including financial services, mining, retail, wealth, public sector and education.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Jones spent nine years with Deloitte, where she most recently served as Director. There, she undertook investigations into fraud, whistleblower and other serious misconduct matters, email review and investigative interviews, fraud and misconduct risk assessments and framework reviews, and delivered training to clients on topics such as fraud and corruption and whistleblower awareness.
Additionally, Ms. Jones brings experience running large class action disputes and remediations, as well as acting as a project manager. Throughout her career, she has presented to senior stakeholders and board members, as well as to regulators.
Ms. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce (concentration in accounting) from the University of Adelaide. She is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand. Ms. Jones has a Certificate IV in Government Investigations and Certificate III in Investigative Services.
In March 2026, the Australian Institute of Professional Investigators held its annual conference in Melbourne, Australia.
