Michael Malloy is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in New York. With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Malloy offers technical expertise in accounting services, specializing in complex arbitration and litigation matters, investigations, mergers and acquisitions, as well as post-purchase price disputes. He has testified, been deposed, and issued reports in litigation and arbitration.

Mr. Malloy conducts thorough internal and regulatory forensic investigations related to white-collar crime for both publicly traded and privately held companies. He also advises on corporate governance, evaluates internal compliance, and provides operational risk assessments. Mr. Malloy leads investigations involving key regulatory bodies, including the SEC, DOJ, FINRA and DFS. Additionally, he offers accounting advisory services and IPO readiness consulting, with significant experience supporting private equity firms.

Mr. Malloy’s client portfolio spans multiple industries, including energy, water distribution, financial services, higher education, non-profit organizations, oil and gas, leasing, pharmaceuticals, private equity, shipping and transportation, telecommunications, healthcare services, and Japanese trading and manufacturing.

Before joining A&M, Mr. Malloy served as Senior Managing Director at a premier consulting firm, where he led its New York SEC and Accounting Advisory Practice. Prior to that, he was a Partner at a Big 4 accounting firm in its Assurance practice in New York, where he developed expertise in the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, International Financial Reporting Standards, Governmental Accounting Standards, and the relevant reporting requirements. 

Mr. Malloy earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Villanova University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York and New Jersey and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
